Jackiemaedit : The artist unleashed

Image
For years, my sister growing up had a creative talent that not many people have. A talent so neat, our family forgot about just how good. Her talent was and is, art. She can take a blank canvas and turn it into a masterpiece over night. She uses this  outlet to express a whole new way of looking at the world. The things she can create, the paintings she can produce are a beauty like no other. The foundation is hardly simple. Take an idea and expand on it to the max. Every creation has a story and the best part about it is, that that meaning of the artwork itself, for each one is truly different; because everyone comes up with their own ideas and thoughts of what it means to them. For me personally, when you tour an art gallery, you see people becoming bored, or claiming they know exactly what the work is all about. When I look at her work it tells a story; it invites you to look at it again and again.   Her work is beautiful, it is downright gorgeous. One of my brothers can ...

Tonite and Forward I bleed Red

Tonite I bleed Red Lately this world is concerned with all the drama and the pain, the shootings, the disasters of the world. The colors of our policemen, the colors of our race, the colors of our flag, the colors of the uniforms of men and women all over from the coast guard, national guard, corrections officers, the army, the marines, the navy, the police, the firemen, the emts, the doctors and nurses, the teachers, the airmen, and the pastors, and the priests who lay down their lives in service to us all.  As a young woman in this country what do I have to give? What could I do with all of this happening in the world. As I listened to my members of my family discuss their wills after my homecooked meal, the sun was still shining. So tonite and maybe going forward, I bleed a different color. I bleed a color of passion, maybe not so much of vengeance or fear, or one of hatred or grief. I bleed the color red, a power color in my world and in this life. What can I give? I was ...

Lakemont, stalemate with family, and that waiting for you

Image
Lakemont Pines is one of my favorite places to go to up north in the Sierras. I am lucky to have family aka grandpa now (grandma passed) who lives up there in a nice cabin. Swarming mosquitoes come mid afternoon and the bullfrogs at night, provide that back country feel, as well as the fishing everyone does at the lake itself. People take out paddle boards, paddle boats, inner tubes, rafts, noodles, etc to swim and frolick in the water. The water is green, but looks crystal green in the light. The stars are really beautiful at night when the lights are out, and when you sit on his deck, you can see bats flying all around. I love fourth of July up there. Although, sky fireworks are banned due to common forest fires, the ground ones they shoot off the dock are just as good. My grandpa sat with us on a beach lawn chair and watched them with us. He is doing well considering he is 85 and still has superb hearing! He loves to watch tv, and a lot of it. I am not too much of a fan, especially ...
