I went to a wedding last weekend for a really good friend of mine from Fresno. I stayed with some family friends and wanted to make sure her day was special. There was a lot of planning involved and some people butt heads a little to make sure everything went smoothly, but all in all it turned out beautiful. In fact, the day of, I woke up at 5am since the dog I was watching was begging to be listened to. From that time forward, I grabbed coffee and headed to the salon to have my hair and makeup done. What a joy not to have to put anything on my face or brush my hair! It only had to be washed. I arrived there at 7:15am to let the groom's momma sleep in.  The stylist brought us orange juice and muffins. I was thrilled because I am positive without those and my coffee, I'd have been dead to the world! She fixed all the gals up and we actually looked really pretty. You wouldn't know it if you looked at me or talked to me, but I am actually self conscious. Funny, how someone like you they say, could be like that. This is a conscious choice of mine and has come with a lot of growth, but also with learning to love myself. My body as people claim they wish they had, is actually fragile and susceptible to bone fracture more than the average person. I am pretty bony, but I wear that with taking care of my body and strengthening my muscles every day. I strengthen my core, my back, and toughen up my skin to stay in shape, but also to stay healthy.  You wouldn't know it if you didn't ask, that I prefer to read a book before I see the movie. I like to challenge my siblings to silly duels, even if I know it is clear I won't win. You wouldn't know it if you didn't look closely, that my eyes have a tint of green in them and that I won't be caught dead wearing yellow. Last week, I went to my friend's wedding shower, or should I say worked at. Before you get all huffy about that I was put to slavery, I wasn't. I volunteered to set up and clean up the event, which I actuallty enjoyed. I am someone who isn't a huge fan of the crazy and fluff at a shower and a bunch of ladies crooning and such over gifts and yada yada. I think the event is nice for that person, but if it were me, I wouldn't do it. I guess I say that now and it will change, who knows. She had tray tiers full of catered food and I bought some extra just in case, made an appetizer to go with it. We had dessert too, which I thankfully took very little of! My friend felt loved and enjoyed having her mom and sister as part of the party and to me that makes the best part for me to help clean so they could do just that. The  first few men in my life besides my brothers who I never knew could make me feel like I did were several guys. I have to write this down because although they aren't present anymore in my life but are still very much great guys. A. I have ten sisters... no actually, I might have more than that. When you hear that you think, are you blind, you have one.. she is your blood sister your opposite, your best friend... member her... What if He gave you ten more..in the form of a bible study group and said to you... these are your sisters in faith... your sisters in soul and on this journey? All of them are my bible study gal pals I have connected with and really got to know. If any of you know me, like really know me, I struggle with weaknesses like anyone else and when I feel it whatever it is, I feel it like the deflector shield is on the burn sequence, a strong feeling. Over the past several months, since these people (a couple) moved downstairs from who knows maybe Mars, ok fine, Santa Cruz it looks like, I have had a tough time trying to get to sleep with all of their racket. Granted, I get up at the buzz crack of dawn to start my day, so for most people that is awfully early. When my old neighbor was here, she never was around, always traveling, but when she was home, I tried to be very quiet. With these folks, the war was on. They kept me up into the wee hours of the night with their loud you know what, and so I maybe decided it was my turn to cause a ruckus.... dumb idea. There was a rocket launch last week, Orion, and it was scheduled for 4am Pacific time, so on both days (first was delayed due to wind valve issue and such) I got up early and may or may not have been rowdy and excited for this launch... clapping, a whoop or two. I do not like gated communities. They are pointless personally. No offense to those who live there, but do you really feel safe? What is the point of gate codes, and fences with sliding mechanisms, and key code entry, or voice activated passwords, or phone calls needed to be made if that other side of the wall, is unsafe already? Before you go thinking I broke into one, let's demonstrate the facts. The gate serves a purpose to intentionally hold up security for homes and for its dwellers who inhabit such areas. Is it because people live in fear of murder, robbery, or maybe even homeless people? How then do you explain that car theft is reported (studies show, just google it) that gated areas still have a high rank for theft even care theft. The car of a guest visiting someone in a gated community gets stolen from. Now wouldn't this be eerie, if not only a resident residing in that community could potentially have access to an entire group of people and alarm systems on any sugg...
