Seattle : Amazing weekend in the Northwest
I left my house friday early, 4am early! I wanted to beat fix 50 traffic and get to the airport on time for my 645am flight. I met my parents after going through security flew southwest and all went pretty smooth, saw mtn tops from the plane and even escaped 100 degree sacramento heat lol. Friday, we went straight to mount rainer, the skies were clear not a rain cloud in sight and off at the lodge there was daily piano music, hard cider to drink off the ledge of two mountain ranges, yes you read that right, in snow and all of Gods glory and masterpieces right around me. It was breathtaking, could not have been better and some of the hiker men, pretty cute just sayin. I ate at a restaurant in the lodge and hiked the trails around the base and some falls. Saturday was waking up and some more trails and my dad got a brilliant idea to hike mt st helens and tour the exhibit. I wont give it away but that place was just as incredible, and what a story behind that mountain eruption and story theater we went to with a curtain show. Exhausted and depleted we went to bremerton naval ship yard town, looked at submarines and fountains and went to Boat Shed for dinner. next morning, tad groggy but rearing to go, we got up to take a boat ferry to Seattle, yahoo, city here I come! The ride over was spectacular and the views around me are hardly even doing justice to be described here, but as I traveled on the water of the puget sound it was serenity and a tad brrr too! We got off the ferry and dad drove into the city. First stop Pikes Place Market, which had beautiful flower bouqets I would have taken home had I not been flying. I went to the first ever starbucks, oh i just had to capitalize on my coffee addiction. After we got in line to go to the space needle, went up and was surrounded by Seattle skyline and architechural marvel. We went to the EMP museum of music and art which was dynamic and fun, and even edcuational. Then next stop was Ballard town to see the submarine government locks( historical, id google it, its very cool) , and the bridge opened up for the crowd and the captain let the ship through. Town of queen anne was nice and also orchestra playing in the park. Later, we high tailed it to the QFC( quality food center aka safeway winco equivalant of grocery stop) and got some fixins for a bbq at dads work friends Familys home, Mark Stump and breakfast food since Courtyard Marriott charges for meals if u can believe it and then we traveled to gorgeous Duvall washington and dinner at Stumps and delicious strawberry shortcake. Came back took a hot shower and collapsed. Morning of, went to Aerojet Redmomd, met some people i work with on a work program and then had lunch at Milargo Cantina. We went to Sklomie Falls, which was phenomenal. Four fuel stocked, energy powered whirlwind weekend trip to Washington, no rest for the wicked, what a trip and lasted four days with my parents, I know, shocker. So very blessed, wiped put but content, deep in thought and since my flight has been delayed several times and its look Like Terminal movie 2 , I went to Anthonys Seafood for dinner and chilling till I can fly home, until then enjoy your evening all!
