The Struggle is Real : Admittedly So....

They tell you to look at every positive thing or moment in your life and focus so intently on it that everything else won't matter or that they keep pushing you to remember how good you have it. Yeah well, everyone's struggles, flaws, insecurities, and issues as people sometimes unfortunately call them.. (which really is code for problems) those are real y'all. I struggle with acting based on how I feel hugely. I get reminded of it everyday and especially when I am sitting on the couch in a therapy session getting it out. It's tough stuff. I won't be taking it lightly, because it's not.    I text some guys I know I should not talk to anymore and yet I have committed myself to not seeing them. Here's the thing. You connect with them on the highest level of intimacy and you tell me if you can forget the way they tick, think, and are. You can't er well at least I cannot. I often have found that hiding the struggle or the problem from people who know can ...

Birthday Fun, No Expectations, just gratitude

Last year around this time, I was all over the place trying to plan something super amazing with all of my friends. If any of you work a lot and don't really socialize only on weekends and some if very few week nights, you know, that planning something during this month is always a mess. I wanted so much to plan this huge extravangana when I turned 25 and it was ridiculous. I wound up getting very upset and realized I could make my own fun times. I am at the age and still unattached with no one to have to seek approval from, except of course the number one man upstairs. That being said, this year I took on a whole new approach and decided to plan my own birthday weekend. I went on a hike up in Auburn with some friends on that friday, then went to bed early. Saturday I woke up super early, got in the car and drove to Stinson Beach and walked around, bought a homemade donut and then headed to Muir Valley. I hiked the lower part on the bike trails for a bit, and then stopped at a ...

Valentine Tea and Kings Game

My friend Domestic Fashionista(blogger check her blog) is one of the greatest hosts for holiday themed events in the home. She goes all out and her home deco makes me feel warm, happy, comfy, and inspired! I finally got to go to this years Valentines Tea and it was so much fun. We had a full blown breakfast of pumpkin muffins, deep dish chocolate banana oatmeal, cinnamon scones and yogurt parfaits. It was delicious and amazing. She made nametags for the guest seating and had a roaring fire on.       I like hosting and wish for my own home one day, but honestly, if Im going to be real, it was soo refreshing to go to another home and not have to do dishes or be at top of game to host! I loved the craft she organized too. Now its a pinterest find as well. It was nail polish and hot water. Crazy! Dip any dishware prefable sturdy ones white into hot water after drizzling nail polish all in the bowl and you create little tye dyed works of art. It wasnt ...

Oatmeal, Swivel Chairs, Superbowl, and Kaiser Permanente

Image
I eat oatmeal every single day. Call me crazy, but this stuff is cheap. You can add fruit to it, and brown sugar, cinnamon, honey, agave, milk or soymilk, anything you want, even chocolate! I take packets to work, or a big can of Quaker oats canister from Winco, and easily make a bowl or two in the early morning. It is the easiest to clean up, and I can pretty much rely on it, when traveling too. Downside? I get pretty sick of it occasionally. When that happens, I cave in, go the cafĂ©, or make something else for breakfast. It makes sense to switch it up every now and then, but try not to grab the donuts. As yummy as donuts look, during flu season, or pretty much anytime at all, you wish you hadn't eaten the glazed ring. In an hour or less, I'm hungry again.   I happen to like swivel chairs. I like the kind where it has a high back to it, to support my mild scoliosis. When I feel like I am slouching, it lifts me right back up. I can pop up out of that chair so fast, it doesn...
