NYE Bye Bye 2016 and Bucket List, Car Issues, you name it, I place it

I was all over the place with New Yr's plans. Apparently God had something better planned. My car was leaking fluid Thursday last week, and had I driven at all that day, my car would have blown up and been gone. My brother and I found the leak on the pavement. At first I thought it was his car, because he recently got his license and took James and my old car, aka Tori. His had a minor fix, but mine however, became shockingly obvious it was mine. The water pump had to be replaced. All I could think of was, damn, I am screwed. He parked it in the garage, called dad, and let things play out. I called the dealership first thing in the am, and prayed silently that they would see me before the holiday rang in. They agreed and pickup was at 4. I cancelled my day plans, and waited. It was nerve-racking, stressful, and one hell of a day. I arrived at a friends house that night, went to a great dinner called Bene Pizza in Placerville and hung out for the evening.

I figured my NYE was botched and I should stay home and hang. Well this wonderful person disagreed. I found a place for Mia to stay, and off we went first thing in the morning to San Francisco. I was over the moon to get out of the house... as much as I love home, (let's just say some current circumstances being what they were, made me want to get out of the house). We drove to meet some of his friends and do a 6 mile hike called Mission Peak. It was freezing! I found a couple gals who went my pace in a group of 15-20 of us, old college buddies of his. He booked it up the mountain, with the water supply, lol woops. The wind chill was miserable, but the views were spectacular. I pushed myself back into motivation mode to get to the top and back down. I had been slacking on working out, so this was a call back to action.

We all met up at Drake's Brewery; had delicious beer, and these amazing tater tots (nope not messin with you, so damn good). We checked into our hotel and got ready for a cocktail dinner. If anyone who knows me well, I enjoy dressing up and white tablecloths, and dinner, especially food, and conversation. I put on my navy blue dress from Jason and Ashley's wedding and felt like a million bucks. I had spinach ravioli and stole some oven roasted salmon(cause who can refuse salmon..)
We ate a ton, and had zero room for dessert. A couple had a joined celebration, they got engaged and her fiancée it was his birthday NYE, so we got to toast to both moments. Everyone cleaned up well and looked amazing. It was all fun and walking around town and waiting for the fireworks, which were at midnight. Longest wait ever! I was so cold. The best thing to do was listen to music and keep walking, and yes I wore pjs out there.

Something about the romanticism of being in San Franciso and being able to go with someone and share it all was wonderful; it was like a dream. Had to pinch myself to see if I was still awake. I had an incredible time. The fireworks show blew any other show I have seen out of the water. Pictures do not do justice. Worth the wait, and unbelievable. Seeing Chinatown and Pier 39, Fisherman's wharf, and miscellaneous great spots, all wonderful memory bank keepers. Left the hotel, and was whisked off to Sonoma for Mexican food at a Tacqueria there. Was driven through the scenic hills and winding roads of Highway 128, such a beauty and relaxing with the sunroof and windows down. FInally, it was on to home. I could lie and say nothing happened, but I will leave that up to you reader to discover for yourself. The entire weekend was like a fairytale, and I never wanted it to end. The resolution is this (his words) : "Don't make up for what you missed, do things that are worthy of being missed later." ;) So, Let the good times roll. 2017 is here, time to live it up and make those plans!
