Putting on your best clown : Makeup or no makeup and animal tested products... YIKES

When I was back at home in Norcal I used to wear makeup at work and after work, heck, a lot. I read magazines and became enthused with how your eyes, face, lips etc should look. I never seemed to get it right with how it was supposed to appear on a celeb, a model or someone fresh from a cover shoot or a salon.

I love the way it looks on a face or even my own. You feel pretty and you feel on top of the world. Sometimes it is just a new lipstick. You feel as if you can conquer the world or get a head turn looking the way you do. Cut check to me moving to southern California and people are whoa beautiful down here. I mean pretty. Sure it is not Hollywood, like calm down Vidge, it is San Diego but still.

I worried maybe that was how I would meet friends, was I should probably wear makeup to the gym. No! My face has a chance to breathe without makeup and I like myself without it. Although those eyes of mine look more defined and amazing with liner and mascara, I don't want to depend on them. Once a naked face every now and then, won't hurt anybody ;). I do love to dress up though, and since still trying to meet friends, haven't had much chance yet to.

My friend Jade from Reno and my brother's girlfriend are really turning me towards health for your body and face. My massage therapist showed me a horrifying video of animal tested products. Newsflash: it's everyday products we love and use all the time! With much trepidation, I went back to the drawing board on this. Back and forth, I am like um this is expensive, that lipgloss is a fortune, or that detergent is ridiculous.

Here's the thing. I have a dog at home. She ingests any of these... she either gets poisoned horribly or dies :(. Scary. Plus the smell of household products is well heavy and intense= YUCK! Sure all of these paraben free and cruelty free (aka look for bunny icon!) products are not cheap, but my peace of mind is back and health is at forefront again. there are tons of websites that show and offer cruelty free brands and items.

My attempt to do this task of revamping the items i carry, plus drinking apple cider vinegar, water, lemon, and honey and coconut oil mixture oil every AM for my face, hair, skin, and nails, is new to me. Hopefully, I can continue as it is making me feel better already. What a difference.

No one knows the right formula or why we spend so much on makeup and just stuff in general... trying different things to find what works, and limiting eventually what doesn't make me feel good.

Yahoo health and ps feels good to be back on track eating at home, home cooked meals, and GYM routine back :).
