Cock -a-doodle what?! : from GB to fair oaks she goes
There is something incredibly exciting and scary about moving to a new area. I moved to the gold river area on the first of february from Roseville. Roseville i'd say is like it's neighbor granite bay whose community is either a ton of high school kids, or retirees, or marrieds. Don't get me wrong, I have some friends who live there and its a great area, but if you want to hit up a bar or enjoy the night life you are living in the wrong place! Although, i met a nice group of women there, and made a community at gold's gym I was quite ready for more than "that provincial life." I moved closer to work and into an apartment with a cool roommate and have started to explore fair oaks or should I say, rooster town? yes, I said roosters. they are everywhere. all kinds of them. I saw one yesterday that resembled the do of Elvis; he was a scrawny little guy, but very entertaining regardless lol. I am a shy person when it comes to big crowds so I wandered the town and bike trails to try to become familiar with this place. I embraced going to a new church this morning, and when I first moved here I found 24 hr fitness. For those of you who don't know, I happen to love the gym quite a bit; it's a personal kick in the butt and a motivator for the restless adventurer(not that I'm into signs or anything, but apparently aquarians, which I am one: are notorious for hating routine maintenance lifestyle.... hmmm interesting). I don't believe in the whole sit at a coffee shop and people will just flock to meet you mentality; however, I'm guilty because I made an attempt to sit at a Starbucks and read a book for an hr or two. Didn't meet a single person, but an old lady who liked what I was reading. I saw two very attractive men on their way to their perspective jobs and smiled in their direction. (sigh) maybe summer will present more luck lol. In moving here, I also had quite a bit to leave behind; difficult as this was, this meant no more Reno, no more cheap rent with family and security in a sheltered community. I made a pact to not revert back, or stay in negativity. also for those of you who are following my lent project, I am on week three. I am learning to embrace the strange territory of this new journey, and I'm loving it! optimism is key; hello rooster and how do you doo?!
