Here, Turkey, Turkey
Watching Wade chase wild turkeys around the parking lot outside of the office today was quite entertaining. He kept calling: “here turkey, here turkey turkey” (insert image of butcher with knife and same quote line and hence why it was amusing.. or maybe I have a sense of humor too much like Robin Williams (FLUBBER moment…) I wanted to know if he was trying see if he could catch them, guaranteed he might get bit on the nose. Turkey hunting, aka turkey day, it’s that time of year where when I was growing up our family would go around the table and say what we were thankful for. The boys would usually say food or ‘er um, family,’ and everyone would go around and say at the current moment what they were giving thanks towards. As the go round reached me, I always liked to have a touching, sappy, rendition of a summation of what meant most to me. While I spoke everyone would yawn, grab food they weren’t supposed to eat, or snicker like hyenas on a sugar high. The whole tradition was a conscious effort of my mother teaching us gratitude possibly or maybe to fill a gap before we would quickly stuff our faces with three helpings of a meal that took almost two days to prepare. Since each sibling will not be present this year because we are all spread around and maybe family as well, here is Margo’s oh-so-endearing-you-know-you- love-this ‘I am thankful for list’ : (in no order)
Heavenly Father: I stumble fall, trip, slide, fly, cry, sing, run, read, shout, and plead, I live and breathe because of you, your gift you have given me is so real and life changing, thank you for knowing me as you do, and not letting me go, even when all is lost.
Bible Study Ladies: Thank you for inviting me to join such a great group of women, and welcoming someone who is younger into your social circles and hearts; I am learning so much even if we are all different, that helps a great deal and we share such a great love of the Lord ; all of you are wonderful. I did not know a soul when I moved to Fair Oaks, and I was blessed to stumble upon Fair Oaks Presb. when I did to find you all.
Aerojet: To have a wonderful job and work for an awesome team, and continue to learn, for great coworkers, (most of them lol) and money in the bank, a place to keep on growing and achieving. Which includes my team, the ability to trust me to back you up when you are in need; the responsibility has been unbelievably eye opening.
FAMILIAS DE VIGEANT, DEESE, DUNASKY, OVERBY, PHILLIPS and SABIN: I love you all so much… it’s scary. To my parents: Thank you for support and love every day of my life. To my siblings, who although very busy, ridiculous, bunch of goonies, which includes my sister and brother-in-law; (although not seen very much): put a Vigeant and a Deese together and expect fireworks or darts and ahem bb guns…(poor birdie); you all are my Wolf Pack, whom I can’t stand to live with or without. To the rest of ya: great family to be in, we stick together like champs or chimpanzees maybe, whenever someone’s in trouble we become a wall of strength and arms of care, even if we don’t want to or can’t be there right then.
To my Friends: Blondie aka Krysta, my other half, never a dull moment lol, I’ve changed so much, and you have kept me on track and loved me through my struggles. Jules and Tara, they are my rocks through and through, at work or outside of the office, funny positive, and incredibly special to have around. Kailee Maxey: for the giggle in my life, and the unforgettable memories, and moments, you are a sweetheart from above. Tony, Wil, Matt Law, Nick Chapman, Bobby, Ryan, and a few others: to the men, thanks for making Miss Red High Heels feel like a winner, supported and able to partake in football, dancing, skype dates, happy hour etc .
FOOD: from eating out at places I usually cannot afford, to dishes made at home, to the scraps left from the night before, without you I would be one crabby lady.
TO my adversaries: Thank you for giving me a challenge, a reason to not give up or quit, to establish myself and glad you are there to remind me grace and humility, who knows you could be my boss one day. (scary thought)
