Munich
The next and last stop with the tour group was munich. When you are on vacation you say im on holiday. You can take the S bahn train and U bahn trains and trans and buses to inner city. I like to dine alone and ppl watch when I travel even if on tours. We saw the monkey tower which is the royal palace area for King Ludwig. Then w we went to pale yellow building in town center for wolfgang amadeus mozarts house. Hofbrauhaus was amazing, it is basically like disneyland for beer.
If you raise your hand and salute hitler anywhere in munich its an automatic arrest and 500 dollar fine! It is a Federal crime to deny the holocaust. I went on a bike tour and was the Butt babe, rear gunner, back lead for the group since I biked the best apparently....weird. We went to the second largest/biggest bier garten in the world. I tried homemade Muesli - type of cereal and oats with yogurt mixture. The hotel Novatel was plush and comfortable.
Free cookies and fruit at front desk each day was a plus especially when on a budget. I only tried dinner out one day or two. We went to a big park outside of the city and watched people take surfboards to the river to surf. I started to get homesick a bit when the tour group left the next day. By Saturday, I will have been gone almost two and a half weeks. I am learning continuously not all people can be trusted and looks can be deceiving as our nature and mannerisms.
Taxi rides are not cheap, but if you are lost and its late or you are in trouble, it is far better to spend the money for safety. The weather like home changes often and if u dont have what u need you need to buy it like for instance a worthless umbrella for 9 euro and use two days before it breaks on you. The Germans are very direct, no funny business or you risk ridicule or misunderstand you and they get angry, not on purpose, but because some don't speak english and they try to and it is difficult if your deutsch is poor or little to none. Munich was pretty and lots of bikers and active city. I took the bus to Austria (my solo journey next stop) alone. It was a pretty ride and two and a half hours.
