Prague

Prague is a beautiful city! It is very crowded with tourists however, so if crowds are not your thing, do not go. The Charles Bridge is really something to see, and if you get to visit Prague Castle, the view and the changing of the guards will truly be a highlight. If not the clock tower and the clock changing is another marvel. There is a restaurant that serves beer on trains and has a train system thorough that brings them to your table! Be aware, though, Czechs do not like separate checks! Very challenging and frustrating with large groups. We went to Prague Castle and also stopped at the statue of a boy. The sunsets are incredible and the riviera surrounding, breathtaking.

They have a swirl ice cream dessert, starts with a Trindek, I think. The chocolate goes at the bottom, then ice cream, then topping. The cone is sugared and cinnamon and they make it right in front of you. You cannot refuse lol. We went to a Klavakor lunch place and I had a good veggie grilled sandwich. We beer tasted and had a huge Czech feast at Pillsner tasting house and Brewery. It is arguably, they say, one of the best in town. The Czech are very passionate about their beer. You ask them about Guinness, Sierra Nevada, or PBR, they will laugh at you, big time. They make Pillsner, which is what they are most known for. They make several others and pride themselves on the fact that some of these with their same taste date all the back to 1400-1500s! Still being barrelled today. Some beers only are good for a month, others 6 months etc. The guide said part his job is to bring in groups like us, teach us about the beer, while he in turn everyday gets to drink these beers!

He gave the men a hint. He told them not to order Kozel. It is mostly like a carmel coffee stout. He said that if you did, the men would stare at you and consider you to be feminine and most if not all Czech men will not be caught dead ordering one. The Czechs are very funny, and they speak fast. We stayed in a five star hotel, called Diplomat Hotel. We went river rafting on a course, bout 30 minutes away from hotel. I one night went to a club that had six stories high, and each floor contained different music people liked, dancefloors, full length bar, etc on each. You have to pay for water here! Our crew got smart. The sink water is drinkable. We found and used bottles we already had. You also have to pay for the bathroom in some places. It's no joke, and they respect their need for cleaniness, and decorum. At the club, I met people from all over, including Sweden, Holland(had some cute guys), and even Russia. One night we played cards on the hotel steps and drank wine with a drinking game. I know I know, silly. I didn't go out in Berlin, so I made up for it.

Last night, after the feast, some of us decided since a friend found out Mumford and Sons were in town, we chose to go. The O2 arena was packed. We had no room, so we had to stand. It was awful, but so worth it. We got to stay for only two hours. People came from all over to see them. We wanted to beat the rush on the way back and get a good night's sleep. We also got to see the John Lennon Wall, by the way, Laska means love. The St. Vita Cathedral was beautiful and the alchemist stores were creative, although tiny designs, on purpose. Today we head to Munich and stop at a Concentration camp called Dacheau. More on that later. Prague and Berlin have been great. I only merely scratched the surface and pictures and my words are nothing compared to what I have the privilege and opportunity to see. Stay tuned if you'd like, and to the naysayers who said this was a waste of time and stupid, how do you like me now?!
