California Drivers, fictional characters, and coconut bars
California Drivers like any other drivers are well they are self absorbed, slow, distracted, rude, aggressive, or downright annoying. Okay who am I to drop a complaint down when I am not the best driver either. Wait a minute. After learning the hard way, its almost like its a lesson and or a warning to me that I can't text and drive, or look at something other than the road. People, if you are driving in a Walmart parking lot and the speed limit is 5, it's not Nascar, people are walking there. Slow down! Yes, I know a ton of these pedestrians do not even look both ways anymore to cross the street, doesn't mean we get to run them over. This man and his two children were anxiously waiting to cross, and cars just kept driving on through. I drove in the lane and waved them on. He was about to take a detour to walking the long way round, but was glad to be let through. Pedestrians have the right away, even if teenage girl on cellphone takes four days to cross, too bad, don't honk or you will startle her and she will get hurt. Just wait. It gets even more fun when driving in traffic and the line is pretty long and there's a huge gap, and you only know that because some dope has been texting and forgot to see the flow of traffic moving along. How about the awesome smoker, who since your ac is broken, you smell and get a wiff of the nasty and his loud music blaring and booming at the intersection light. One set of ears buddy, come on! The tough one is when it's the older drivers. A woman is 90 who lives here at my complex and she is still driving! Yikes. I guess it's okay to have her son in the front seat to make sure the car doesn't crash.... but 90 is a little bit dangerous for operating a vehicle if you cannot see above the steering wheel. I am just saying. I worry about her safety, and yes she drives very slow, but gets very upset when she parks the car at an angle and blames her son directed her wrong. Poor guy. Some drivers do not pay attention. They are gabbing on phones, putting on makeup, changing a cd, it's so scary! I am thankful my commute is short and the traffic isn't horrible especially in the heat. It's frustrating when people won't let you pass and you have had your blinker on for the last mile and a half. Oh that's Cali drivers for you, but I bet elsewhere it's even crazier, so better just to be cautious, space between cars, and horn rarely because it could make a mess even if you just want the person to get a move on.
Ah fictional characters.... I love them. I absolutely love them. I read about them, I watch them on the television screen. Of course they are not real, but I love them. Mr. Darcy, Dr. Mark Sloan, Declan, the scarecrow(or boy) from Wicked, Marius, Doctor Who, Joe Morelli. If these are not making any sense at all, Google is a powerful tool I hear and if a girl and reading this you won't be sorry you checked! These guys are great and even if they don't exist, they set my heart on fire and I smile very big when I see or read about them. Take Ian Holt from Drop Dead Diva. In real life, he's a big fat criminal on death row. That sounds awful until you watch the show and realize for yourself who Ian really is. No spoilers! I hide out like a hermit, read and watch shows, and I get teased all the time. People say why don't you get out in the real world and go meet real people and do real things. I am doing real things. I have a job, I go do fun things, but sometimes I like to pretend, it makes me feel good and I know what Gods says no idols. I know he has a plan, I just dare to dream. I like to think in my head a guy not perfect, but funny, nerdy, silly, honest, and friendly exists. I live in books people. I know for a fact if these guys were real, I'd be certain they would all be happily married, or like the Doctor, solitary, but noteworthy. All of them are so different, complex, and ridiculous, yet I'd rather live in a novel world, then a reality which makes no sense to me right now. The real world has games and mixed messages, deceit, confusion, and all this fluff of circumstance. At least in make believe there is still fighting and truth, but each man knows exactly who they are, it's wonderful. Sure it's absurd to think of such things, but book lovers rejoice, it's a great way to be, and then even to write about it! ;).
Coconut Bars are soooo delicious! They are made by Oskiri and sadly very expensive.$1.29 per bar, it's crazy! I am not a rich lady, but on occasion, or when I am going to go bonkers, I have one. It's like stepping into a flower bed and falling asleep, it's yummy in my tummy and for my soul. Happy as a clam and taking a bite, giggling like a fool that it's the best. They are gluten free, made of coconut and rice syrup. Okay, so not exactly good for you, but better than a Klondike bar or a box of Krispey Kremes. These bars are addicting and being a coconut lover, makes it even more awesome. They have an almond kind, and vanilla too I think. Raley's sells them, but I don't know about Trader Joes. Winco does not, but I will admit if they do, maybe I could buy more than one!
